The following photograph was taken on June 11, 2010 at the 41st NHRA Supernationals held at Raceway Park, Englishtown NJ. This event was marked by the tragic death of driver Neal Parker (see http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2010/06/millville_driver_killed_in_old.html ). While a somber mood was felt throughout the crowed and more so the teams, the event continued later in the evening after a moment of silence and prayer by a Racers for Christ chaplain.

This image of Rick Stewart, official track starter, was taken roughly 15 minutes after the State Police announced that Neal Parker had died in a fatal racing crash. Through his pause along the track wall, I feel the spirit that each racer, crew member, owner, staff, and fan shares for one another can be seen.
